Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Account Executive to join our finance team. This role involves handling day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting month-end closing and reporting activities.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Handle daily accounting functions including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger entries.
2. Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, credit notes, and debit notes.
3. Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and customer accounts.
4. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and schedules.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in compliance with company policies and financial standards.
6. Monitor customer outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments.
7. Assist in preparing SST & GST submissions and liaise with external tax agents or auditors as required.
8. Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records and supporting documents.
9. Support the finance team in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting tasks.
10. Collaborate with sales, parts, and service departments to ensure proper revenue and cost recognition.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum 2–3 years of working experience in a similar role.
3. Part-qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, CPA Australia, or equivalent) is an advantage.
4. Good understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), tax regulations, GST, and SST.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting systems.
6. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment as well as independently.
8. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
9. Experience in the retail/distribution/trading industry is an advantage.
