Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Executive to manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting within our retail furniture business. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle full set of accounts including GL, AR, AP, and bank reconciliations.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

Manage inventory costing and assist with stock control processes.

Ensure timely submission of SST, EPF, SOCSO, and other statutory payments.

Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and government bodies when required.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.

Assist with internal financial audits and process improvements.

Maintain proper documentation and filing of all accounting records.

Handle e-invoicing requirements in compliance with LHDN guidelines and ensure timely issuance of digital invoices.

What we're looking for

Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Part or full ACCA, CIMA, or MIA qualification is an added advantage.

Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in retail or trading.

Experience in inventory-based accounting is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations and tax requirements (SST, EPF, SOCSO, etc.).

Proficient in accounting software (e.g., ERP, or equivalent)..

Good command of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.

Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to meet deadlines.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with the furniture or household goods industry.

Ability to work independently and within a team.

Willingness to take on additional roles in a growing retail environment.

Required language(s): English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin is a bonus.
