A leading company in Meru, Malaysia is seeking an Accounts Executive to manage daily accounting operations. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, facilitating compliance with regulations, and ensuring seamless business operations. Ideal candidates possess a Diploma in Accounting and relevant experience, alongside strong skills in organization, communication, and accounting software.
The Accounts Executive is responsible for handling day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The role is key to ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoice processing and payment follow-ups.
Prepare and issue customer invoices, credit notes, and statements.
Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.
Monitor customer collections and follow up on overdue accounts.
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing of accounts.
Maintain and update general ledger and accounting records.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and supporting documents for audits.
Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records.
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and other external parties as required.
Ensure proper documentation for import/export, such as customs declarations and shipping documents.
Support the implementation and maintenance of operational procedures and company policies.
Assist in general office administration and other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 1–3 years of working experience in accounting (preferably in a trading/distribution environment).
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, AutoCount, or other ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
Good understanding of accounting principles and local tax regulations.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently.
Knowledge of import/export procedures and inventory systems is an advantage.
Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualities
Experience with inventory and costing is an added advantage.
Knowledge of SST and E-Invoicing submission and financial audits.
