A leading company in Malaysia is seeking an Account Assistant to manage day-to-day accounting transactions. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, monitoring receivables, liaising with auditors, and supporting tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have an Accounting Degree, be proficient in Excel and Google Spreadsheet, and possess effective communication skills in English and Mandarin.
Responsible for day-to-day accounting transactions of the company including billings to customers.
Monitor and follow up on accounts receivables.
Process payments and manage vendors' enquiries.
Prepare a full set of accounts including AR, AP, and GL.
Prepare timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations (banks, intercompany balances, etc.).
Maintain balance sheet schedules and monthly management reports.
Compile and submit Monthly Withholding Tax (Malaysia) and quarterly SST (Malaysia) returns.
Liaise with external auditors and tax agents on annual audits and tax filings.
Attend to merchants’, government, and other third-party enquiries.
Prepare cash flow forecasts for daily operations.
Perform any other ad hoc duties as directed by the company.
To succeed in this role, you should:
Possess at least an Advanced Diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy/Finance or equivalent qualification.
Be proficient in Excel and Google Spreadsheet.
Preferably be conversant in English and Mandarin (spoken and written). We seek candidates proficient in Mandarin to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking clients.
Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Be able to multi-task and work independently.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
