Job summary

A leading company in Kota Kinabalu is seeking an Account Assistant to manage day-to-day accounting operations. Responsibilities include data entry, preparing accounts, and assisting with audits. Candidates should have at least a diploma in Accounting and possess strong multitasking abilities, as well as proficiency in Microsoft products.

Qualifications

  • At least LCCI / Professional Certificate / Diploma in Accounting.
  • Preferably 2 years of relevant experience; fresh graduates welcome.
  • Required languages: Bahasa Malaysia, English.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day accounting operations, including data entry.
  • Cash book maintenance and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare full set of accounts and issue invoices.

Job description

  • Day to day accounting operation activities such as data entry into accounting system.
  • Cash book maintenance and daily & monthly bank reconciliations, fixed assets register and etc.
  • Prepare full set of accounts.
  • Issue daily cash bills and monthly invoices.
  • Prepare daily, weekly or monthly payment to suppliers, staff claim etc.
  • Compile information for yearly audit and tax purposes.
  • Assist in year-end closing and preparing the audit schedule where necessary.
  • Filing and maintain accounting records.
  • To perform general administration and ad-hoc duties assigned by management.
  • Multitasking, resourceful and proactive with sense of urgency.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least LCCI / Professional Certificate / Diploma in Accounting, Finance or any related field.
  • Preferably at least 2 years’ relevant commercial experience. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English.
  • Able to work under pressure and tight deadline and the flexibility to work on weekend/ public holiday when required.
  • Mature, team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Good proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, other Microsoft programs, or SQL Accounting Software is an added advantage.
  • Possess own transport.
