Job description

- Match supplier invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.

- Issue cheques for payments to suppliers and creditors.

- Process payment to suppliers and creditors.

- Take all viable supplier discounts.

- Process daily claims settlement and reimbursement.

- Reconciliation of bank accounts against cash book.

- Maintain creditors and accruals records and aging analysis.

- Prepare and post financial accounting entries to the book of accounts.

- Assist Account Executive in the analysis and extraction of various accounting data for reporting to management.

- Filing of documents, supplier invoices, bank statements, etc.

Account Receivable

- Issue sales invoices to customers and debtors.

- Issue statement of accounts and official receipts to debtors.

- Resolve billing discrepancies with customers.

- Maintain debtors and accruals records and aging analysis.

- Assist the Account Executive in the analysis and extraction of various accounting data for reporting to management.

- Filing of documents, delivery orders & invoices.

- Preparing documents for dispatch to customers.

- In charge of courier service & mail posting (if required).

About the role

Yean Yean is seeking an Account Assistant to join our team in Skudai Johor. As an Account Assistant, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive accounting and bookkeeping support to our small business clients. This is a full-time position that offers excellent opportunities for professional development and growth within our dynamic organisation.

What you'll be doing

  1. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger transactions.
  2. Preparing monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and other reports for clients.
  3. Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and supporting documentation.
  4. Providing administrative support, such as filing and organising financial documents.
  5. Liaising with clients to address any accounting-related queries or concerns.
  6. Supporting the wider accounting team with ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.

What we're looking for

  1. Relevant diploma or degree in Accounting or a related field.
  2. At least 1-2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting assistant role, preferably in a small practice or professional services environment.
  3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
  4. Proficient in using accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Xero.
  5. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients.
  6. Motivated, organised, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
