An Academic Counsellor helps students navigate their educational journey by providing guidance on academic planning, course selection, career opportunities, and personal development. They assess students' interests, strengths, and goals to support informed decision-making about education and career paths.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Guidance & Support:

  • Advise students on course selection, degree programs, and career opportunities.
  • Assist with academic planning to ensure students meet graduation requirements.
  • Provide information about scholarships, internships, and extracurricular activities.

Career & Educational Counseling:

  • Help students explore career options based on their skills and interests.
  • Offer guidance on university applications, entrance exams, and study abroad programs.
  • Conduct career workshops, personality assessments, and aptitude tests.

Academic Performance Monitoring:

  • Track students' academic progress and suggest improvement strategies.
  • Provide support for students struggling with academic or personal challenges.
  • Coordinate with faculty to develop intervention plans for at-risk students.
  • Offer advice on time management, study techniques, and stress management.
  • Help students overcome learning difficulties or personal obstacles affecting their studies.
  • Provide referrals to mental health professionals if needed.

Parental & Institutional Communication:

  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school administrators to ensure student success.
  • Organize parent-teacher meetings and academic counseling sessions.
  • Stay updated on educational policies and university admission criteria.
Requirements
