Project Sales Engineer

(Selangor - Balakong)

A long-established leading company (over 30 years) in Malaysia for quality PVC conduits and PVC trunkings, and a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, established in more than 70 countries. Products range from circuit breakers and wiring devices to cable support systems and home automation.

Headcount: 2

(Preference for female Chinese candidates; one headcount focusing on Klang Valley, the other on Sabah and Sarawak markets, with approximately 18 days of travel per month)

Role Summary

The incumbent is responsible for achieving sales targets by promoting our Wiring Devices (PL2), Residential Systems (PL3), Building Systems (PL4), and PVC Conduits and Equipment (PL9) product lines to retailers, contractors, and investors.

Role Responsibilities

  • Acquire deep product knowledge on all products
  • Understand customer profiles and buying needs; expand support and business by providing professional pre-sales and post-sales services, including technical support
  • Prospect new customers and developers through cold-calls and sales visits
  • Promote product lines via sales presentations, events, and networking sessions in collaboration with Marketing
  • Prepare concept proposals, specifications, quotations, and generate sales according to targets
  • Support customers (retailers, contractors, investors) professionally before and after sales, including technical support
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all products and provide internal and external training when needed
  • Conduct product presentations to prospective clients
  • Handle pricing inquiries, follow-up on orders, and coordinate delivery schedules
  • Provide sales reports to the Head of Sales

Role Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to excellent customer service
  • Sales-driven with the ability to meet targets and goals
  • Ability to support sales efforts and meet customer expectations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; fluent in English, Malay, and Chinese dialects
  • Own transportation is required
  • Willingness to travel within Klang Valley and other parts of Peninsular Malaysia as needed
  • Fluency in both Mandarin and English is preferred to interact with Mandarin-speaking customers

Current opening is in BDE/Project Sales. Preference for female Chinese candidates; open to male candidates as well. Candidates must be willing to travel. Salary including allowances but excluding commission: Not more than RM7,000.
