About the job (A) Assistant Manager, Talent Acquisition

Salary range: RM 8,000 - RM 11,500

Interviewer: HR Director

Requirement: 5 to 8 years of experience in human resources as an HR Assistant Manager/Manager (HRBP) or Generalist in a plant environment.

Must have a working appreciation of all fields within HR (Recruitment - Local/Expatriate & Service Support).

Experience in HR strategy implementation with client groups to solve business needs.

Proven ability to work effectively with client groups, solving business problems in a fast-paced and matrixed environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager will be a key member of the Malaysia operations leadership team, supporting and improving human capital productivity and organizational effectiveness aligned with business objectives.

The role involves partnering with business leadership and HR peers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide end-to-end operational HR support to business/country leaders.
  2. Manage Employer Branding & Recruitment processes, including job descriptions, sourcing, interviews, feedback, and onboarding.
  3. Support business managers in driving performance and strategic initiatives.
  4. Ensure timely participation in government surveys and statutory compliance.
  5. Partner with client groups to maximize human resources support.
  6. Support managers in leading a geographically spread workforce within a matrix organization.
  7. Develop recruitment strategies for long-term needs and provide interviewing and selection guidance.
  8. Manage recruitment lifecycle activities and employee relations, including investigations and corrective actions.
  9. Provide compensation recommendations adhering to internal and external standards.
  10. Ensure compliance with employment laws and promote diversity in sourcing.
  11. Support and advocate for corporate policies, acting as an advisor on employment law matters.
  12. Complete employee change requests collaboratively with site leadership.
  13. Contribute to business strategies and HR practices that reinforce organizational culture.
  14. Drive HR projects to enhance organizational effectiveness, including HR systems and platforms.
  15. Ensure adequate resourcing at all locations and provide HR reports.
  16. Liaise with outsourced service providers.
  17. Manage expatriate hiring processes and liaise with immigration authorities.
  18. Adhere to quality, health and safety, legal, and environmental policies.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Manager.

  • Strong understanding of HR tools: staffing, C&B, organization design, performance management, legal compliance.
  • Awareness of workforce demographic issues and trends.
  • Effective relationship-building and influencing skills; diplomatic and creative approach.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 to 8 years in HR as an Assistant Manager/Manager (HRBP) or Generalist in a plant environment.
  • Experience in HR strategy implementation and working with client groups in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
  • Experience with a professional workforce.

EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline.
  • Certifications: PHR, SPHR, or GPHR.
  • Master's degree preferred.
