Our client is a well-established Japanese multinational company specializing in environmental engineering. They are currently hiring a 2D/3D Design Engineer to support their regional plant projects.

The company provides end-to-end EPC solutions, from design and construction to commissioning and consultation for sewage & WWTP projects, serving various private industrial factories, private plant suppliers, Indah Water, and sewage contractors both locally and overseas.

Petaling Jaya, Selangor

About the role:

You will be responsible for preparing detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings related to plant layout, piping systems, and equipment installation. This role involves close coordination with project teams locally and in Japan, supporting tender submissions, and future regional design tasks.

Job Responsibilities

1. Primary responsibilities include 3D/2D conceptual engineering, design, and detailing of building structures, piping work, or equipment installation.
2. Communicate with Project Managers in Japan HQ (in English) to understand drawing requests based on HQ instructions and client requirements.
3. Support the tender process by managing deadlines and providing quality assurance on drawing deliverables.
4. Serve as a Hub Designer in the future to support other international branches such as ASEAN and overseas regions.
5. Participate in internal and customer reviews as necessary.
6. Perform any ad-hoc drawing tasks as requested by superiors or Japan HQ.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering
• 5-10 years of experience in 2D and 3D drafting for construction or M&E systems
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit
• Experience in piping design is an advantage
• Strong communication skills in English for cross-border collaboration
