Summary
Detailed Description

Responsibilities:

  • Executes three to five-year plans & objectives.
  • Maintains responsibility for development and execution of strategies for strategic and/or high-dollar commodities or groups of commodities, focusing on quality, price/value determination, and timely delivery.
  • Leads projects or programs on a multi-functional, national, or regional basis; may lead work groups or project teams, or provide advice and guidance in the area of specialty to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
  • Sets tactical plans to achieve goals within established standards, policies, objectives, and timelines; accountable for work quality.
  • Drives continuous improvements across functions, leads problem resolution based on analysis of facts and data, develops plans and solutions, updates policies to standardize processes, and resolves conflicts effectively.
  • Builds and maintains positive cross-functional relationships, negotiating and persuading with tact to gain support from suppliers and customers.
  • Establishes and drives global bidding initiatives, supporting worldwide product pricing strategies and processes.
  • Responsible for global negotiations on pricing, terms & conditions, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure supply continuity.
  • Conducts strategic analyses on pricing, market trends, suppliers, customers, competitors, and manages complex commodities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ensures timely execution of commodity plans, supplier analysis, development, selection, and relationship management within policies and processes.
  • Acts as the primary interface with suppliers for relationship management, contract negotiations, performance reviews, and business development.
  • Tracks and reports performance metrics regularly.
  • May act as site liaison for critical shortages, developing strategies for constrained commodities, and representing the site in system changes affecting purchasing responsibilities.
  • Assists in developing training plans and mentoring new employees.
Typical Experience

Requirements:

  • At least 5-7 years in the Semiconductor Industry.
  • Deep understanding of AP culture.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, stocking programs, LT reductions, and supplier development.
  • Problem resolution and conflict management skills.
  • Mechanical Engineering background preferred.
  • Knowledge of global supply chain trends and their impact on strategic commodities, including industry pricing, technology, and supply/demand trends.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and financial analysis.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High integrity.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, adopt fact-based problem-solving, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Ability to build strong supplier and cross-functional relationships.
  • Independent work ethic with responsibility and urgency.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn and handle dynamic challenges.
  • Duties may be performed remotely.
  • Extended sitting and visual concentration on detailed data may be required.
  • Frequent overnight travel required.
