The VoIP/Video Engineer

The VoIP/Video Engineer is a subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of voice routing communications in medium to large infrastructures and design. This role requires technical expertise in call and video routing, optimization, call and video flow technology, customer service, and QoS, aligned with DoD practices. The engineer must work under pressure and in varying environments to ensure continuous voice and video call services.

Responsibilities
  1. Implement new and existing VoIP solutions, including VoSIP technology, Cisco Call Manager, and Unified Communications systems.
  2. Manage and maintain Tier 1 Cisco Call Managers, Presence, Unity servers, SBCs, SME, and related equipment.
  3. Collaborate within the Network Operations Center to ensure VoIP traffic does not interfere with data traffic.
  4. Provide technical support for voice and video networks, system upgrades, and equipment purchases.
  5. Monitor capacity, quality, and performance issues for VoIP traffic to ensure system reliability.
  6. Perform regular system maintenance to support security and compliance standards.
  7. Follow best practices in network build, testing, and documentation, adhering to DISA STIGs.
  8. Ensure all technologies are compliant with current security guidelines.
  9. Track network issues and requests using ServiceNow.
  10. Maintain detailed network diagrams.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, IS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Must adhere to DoD 8570.01M, maintaining at least one baseline and one CE certification (e.g., Cisco CCNP: Security, CompTIA CASP, etc.).
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in technical, managerial, or analytical roles involving management information systems.
  • Hands-on experience with VoIP technologies in medium to large environments.
  • Skills include configuration management, asset documentation, networking solutions, troubleshooting, and communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively.
