Overview

The individual will be responsible for the installation, testing, and repair of the IGX tactical communication package (TCP). Responsibilities include the operation and maintenance (O&M) of communication lines, trunking, cabling, switching systems associated with the IGX, and systems, modules, cabinets, processors, circuit cards, power supplies, and peripheral equipment. The technician will perform preventative, corrective, routine, and demand maintenance for the REDCOM IGX Switch and provide telephone services to all switch users.

This position offers company-paid housing and transportation, a completion bonus, and tuition reimbursement. Candidates must meet all host country requirements to work legally.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform all service orders (SEVORD) on the switch.
  2. Manage telephone systems administration, operations, and maintenance according to OEM manuals.
  3. Execute patch programming, telephone prefix, and area code updates.
  4. Troubleshoot switch and ancillary devices to restore service, including remote diagnostics, parts replacement, and technical documentation updates.
  5. Coordinate with local exchange carriers for trouble correction, service additions, or upgrades.
  6. Coordinate with RNOSC for DOD network compliance and telecommunication service orders.
  7. Participate in performance assessments, evaluations, training, and contingency preparations.
  8. Maintain logs, cable records, and a telephone database; verify customer service and complete reports.
  9. Work environment: 90% office, 10% outside plant work.
  10. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • High school diploma or GED; one year of related experience may substitute for one year of education.
  • At least five years' experience in telephone systems.
  • Certification in operations and maintenance of the REDCOM IGX Switch system.
