Primary Role FocusThe Technical Services Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to the Sales team by acting as a subject matter expert and technical resource for Packer Plus tools and equipment. This role is also responsible for ensuring products and completions designs are applied successfully. Reports to Regional Engineering Manager, MENA.Key Tasks and Responsibilities- Support Sales team with completion proposals and job designs.
- Assist with projects, tenders and wellbore designs, as required.
- Confirm projects specifications to ensure tools can successfully complete the applications.
- Provide on call technical assistance when needed.
- Present tool operations and information to clients; provide follow up on field incidents.
- Maintain engineering aspects of product designs; identify risk factors and propose alternate solutions, recommendations or approaches.
- Create and prepare calculations, simulations, sales proposal drawings and support as required.
- Complete post-job analysis, identify issues, summarize results and develop recommendations and lessons learned for future jobs.
- Review all reports ensuring accuracy, grammar, and technical correctness before submission to the client.
Position requirementsExperience and Skills- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- knowledge of oilfield completions, down hole tools, packers and liner hanger and Packers Plus systems and processes
- Able to perform torque and drag simulations, tube move analysis, axial loads analysis.
- Applied mathematics and mechanical aptitude
- 5 years+ in oilfield completions and engineering, liner hangers and multi-stage completions
- Field experience an asset
Education and Training- University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum or related field)
- Professional Engineering Association membership an asset
- H2S, First Aid and WHIMS
Physical and Safety Requirements- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and use of a monitor, computer, keyboard and mouse
- Subject to post-incident and reasonable suspicion drug & alcohol testing
- Schedule flexibility and ability to travel internationally, if required
- Proven ability to maintain a high level of professionalism; both internally and externally.
