A leading engineering firm in Kuwait is seeking a Construction Supervisor with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in the field. The role involves monitoring installation quality, coordinating with clients, and supervising erection activities. Candidates must have good command of English and be familiar with safety standards and engineering applications. To follow up on the erection of Kirby buildings and report on the quality of erection.
Also, to assist in solving site problems or fabrication mistakes.
• Follow up the installation of anchor bolts at site and report any problems to the ASM for further action.
• Follow up and inform the customer about the shipment of materials.
• Monitor the storing quality of Kirby materials at the site.
• Supervise, on an as-needed basis, the erection at the site and assist in solving any problems, with no responsibility on Kirby for supply orders.
• Check final erection if required and recommend issuing a final erection certificate, confirming materials are erected as per Kirby drawings (also with no responsibility on Kirby).
• Check any customer claims at the site for short-shipped materials or quality issues (e.g., wrong detailing, wrong fabrication, poor painting, etc.), and if the claim is valid, report to the ASM, prepare an official claim form, and follow up on the issuance and arrival of rectification materials (RM).
• Assist in any required site measurements.
• Assist in preparing the Straight Sale forms.
• Prepare site visit reports and take progress photographs, especially for major projects, for quality assurance and marketing purposes.
• Coordinate and propose the best shipping schedules for large projects as per customer site needs with PMG.
• For projects where Kirby takes erection scope, in addition to the above, be fully responsible for the entire erection activity:
o Coordinate and ensure quality, schedules, and contractual commitments from Kirby to the client and from the erector to Kirby are followed.
o Represent Kirby at sites and attend all site meetings, manage subcontractors, and ensure quality, timely completion, and safety standards.
o Issue daily site activity reports or as situations demand.
o Ensure adequate manpower and equipment at the site.
o Check and certify invoices from the erector to Kirby.
o Follow up on approval of our periodic progressive invoices to the client and ensure collections.
Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Good command of English is required, along with Arabic or Hindi
- Good knowledge of computer applications (MS Office, Internet)
- Experience in preparing schedules for erection and required manpower.
Minimum Entry Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in engineering applications (detailing/construction)
- Additional experience as a Tech Rep. of PEB/SS is essential.
Technical & non-technical skills:
- Engineering/IT skills and proficiency in English.
- Exposure to safety standards, quality control, detailing of PEB, budgeting for site rectifications, erection costs, and schedules.
- Experience in field rectifications of steel members.
