Job description

Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Under the supervision of the FMS-A Maintenance Manager and/or the FMS-B Maintenance Manager, the Technical Inspector Lead performs field and sustainment-level inspections of equipment and process outputs to support LOGCAP V Contract. As the Lead Technical Inspector, provide technical guidance and supervision to subordinates. Perform inspections related to estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD), Actual Cost of Damage (ACOD), Estimated Costs of Fabrications (ECOF), and Estimated Cost of Repair (ECOR), and verify condition codes. Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) functions. Understand all shop functional requirements and provide assistance and coverage as needed.

  1. Perform initial, in-progress, and final inspections in accordance with applicable Army Regulations, Technical Manuals, and Industry Standards.
  2. Read blueprints, sketches, and modification orders to plan processes and layouts efficiently and effectively.
  3. Input deficiencies, shortcomings, and parts needed into GCSS-Army.
  4. Conduct research for manuals and parts.
  5. Determine types and quantities of materials needed and order required materials for repairs or fabrication based on customer work requests.
  6. Assist in coaching subordinates to ensure compliance with current Internal Operating Procedures (IOP) and quality regulations.
  7. Complete and review work order documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  8. Observe all current Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) and fire regulations. Ensure a safe work area by utilizing appropriate PPE, warning devices, and proper vehicle/equipment placement.
  9. Prepare paperwork detailing labor and supplies used for job orders.
  10. Use proper Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) during operations.
  11. Interpret technical references.
  12. Perform other duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • Education/Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of related experience may substitute for one year of education. Formal training (e.g., MOS 91C, D, J, L) is mandatory or meet civilian skills criteria. Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a CAC. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Valid driver's license required, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience inspecting tactical military equipment, with at least 2 years in supervisory leadership. Experience as a HVAC technician for at least 2 years is also relevant.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills in English. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of welding and repair of military equipment, and ability to obtain necessary access and licenses.
  • Working Conditions: Capable of working in extreme weather conditions exceeding 120°F, in hot, dry, desert environments, and industrial conditions.
  • Physical Requirements: Light work exerting up to 20 pounds, with potential for heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, and working in PPE. Must comply with safety regulations.
