Job summary

Voltech HR Services (VHRS) seeks a Substation Design Engineer in Kuwait. You will design and review substations up to 400 kV, develop SLDs, protection schemes, and equipment layouts while coordinating with consultants, clients and contractors.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of drafting HV substations, familiarity with IEC standards, and expertise in AutoCAD and Revit MEP. Fluency in English is required for technical drawings and annotations.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years drafting experience focused on HV substations, power plants, or utility infrastructure.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D/3D) and Revit MEP.
• Fluent in English for reading technical drawings and annotations.
• Experience with IEC standards and utility coordination.

Responsibilities

• Substation design up to 400 kV, prepare SLDs and protection schemes.
• Review compliance with IEC and utility standards.
• Design and review HV/EHV cable systems up to 400 kV.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients and contractors.
• Support technical submittals, approvals, and value engineering.

Job Description :

4 years BE / Btech degree in Electrical Engineering (diploma + 3 year of engineering not acceptable)

• Substation Design (Up to 400 kV), Review and develop, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), protection schemes, equipment layouts coordinate GIS / AIS design requirements
• Ensure compliance with IEC and utility standards
• Underground Cable Systems
• Design and review HV/EHV cable systems (up to 400 kV)
• Evaluate:
  • Cable sizing
  • Routing and installation methods
  • Jointing and termination requirements
  • Support technical submissions and approvals
• Overhead Transmission Lines
  • Review and support design of OHL systems up to 400 kV
  • Coordinate with tower design, conductor selection, and line routing
  • Ensure compliance with technical and environmental requirements
• Technical Coordination
  • Interface with:
    • Consultants
    • Clients
    • Contractors
  • Review technical submittals and respond to clarifications
  • Support value engineering and optimization
• Certified Autodesk AutoCAD Professional / Certified Revit MEP User
• 5+ years of drafting experience specifically focused on high-voltage substations, power plants, or utility infrastructure projects
