Overview

Site Lead (AUAB contingent upon award) – Qatar. Multiple locations include Ali Al Salem Air Base (ASAB), Kuwait; Al Dhafra Air Base (ADAB), United Arab Emirates (UAE); Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Qatar. Chenega Defense & Aerospace Solutions (CDAS) is seeking a Site Lead to support the operation of the OCONUS Military Postal Office (MPO) and provide postal support to authorized personnel and organizations, including authorized coalition personnel and units within the 9th Air Force (AFCENT) Area of Responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the performance of all work and personnel at their location; manage staffing and operational control of the location.
  • Serve as the single interface between the MPO and the company.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for their operating MPO location in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Implement the PM’s contractor postal management functions, ensuring organizational functions at their location operate within established standardized processes and disciplines.
  • Be available to meet with on-site Military or government MPO personnel within two hours of notice, deployed site local time, to discuss postal issues face-to-face or by telephone.
  • Monitor work and report progress.
  • Ensure work meets contract location requirements and is delivered on time to the PM or government customer.
  • Perform postal clerk functions as required.
AUAB Only

The following requirement applies to AUAB only:

  • Manage and perform duties in accordance with the PWS for the Mail Control Activity requirement.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Conduct any required customs-related tasks with the host nation as assigned.
  • Process all mail for transport, including opening and closing pouches in AMPS, nesting parcels, assigning transportation, and printing PS-150 and Universal Postal Union labels.
  • Generate and maintain required documentation in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
  • Deliver mail to and receive mail from military or authorized commercial airline representatives as required.
  • Perform checks of commercial airline and Air Mobility Command (AMC) cargo areas and monitor ramp transfers according to guidelines and standards.
  • Submit Reports of Irregular Handling of Mail and Postal Net Alert (PNA) reports via AMPS for 9 AF (AFCENT) review.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline and 3+ years of experience in supervisory roles and managing postal service operations, or a high school diploma/GED with 5+ years of similar experience.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a standard transmission vehicle.
  • Active passport with at least six months of validity remaining from the date of departure to international destinations.
  • Active secret clearance.
  • Ability to pass medical prescreening for deployment and travel up to 90–100% of the time (CONUS and OCONUS).
  • Ability to meet and maintain certifications/qualifications for deployment to hazardous duty locations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to work with a wide range of individuals, including government personnel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; customer-focused attitude.
