SIS Systems Analyst and Programmer

Position Requires Relocation to Kuwait - Relocation Assistance Provided

Position Overview:

American International University (AIU) is seeking an experienced SIS Systems Analyst and Programmer to support the university’s Student Information System (SIS), including the Ellucian Banner platform. This role focuses on Oracle-based system development, report creation, system integrations, and data optimization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in university systems, Oracle tools, and supporting academic and administrative stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain reports using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Forms/Reports.
  • Support and maintain SIS modules (e.g., admissions, registration, academic records, housing, HR, student accounting).
  • Integrate SIS with third-party systems such as LMS (e.g., Moodle), HR, telephony (e.g., AVAYA), email, SMS, and authentication platforms using SOAP/REST APIs and Oracle utilities (UTL\_HTTP, UTL\_SMTP, DBMS\_LDAP).
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing code, procedures, and reports to improve performance and accuracy.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of academic and administrative data in Oracle databases.
  • Collaborate with users and departments to gather and translate technical and business requirements.
  • Document system architecture, workflows, and integration logic.
  • Assist in technical support and train staff and end-users on system usage and features.
  • Develop, modify, and test Oracle packages, functions, and procedures to meet system needs.
  • Utilize tools such as BI Publisher and Oracle ADF to support system development and reporting.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Oracle development (Forms, Reports, SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Experience supporting or developing Student Information Systems in a university setting.
  • Familiarity with integration using APIs and tools such as BI Publisher, Oracle ADF, and Apex.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with WebLogic Server and Oracle database administration is a plus.
  • Effective communicator with a proactive attitude and willingness to support institutional goals.
