Job summary

Egis Group is seeking a Senior Utility Engineer for our Kuwait port facility to oversee electrical, water, HVAC, compressed air, and fuel systems. You will lead a technical team, ensure safety compliance, and optimize maintenance programs to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in utility systems within port/industrial settings, strong PLC/SCADA knowledge, and hands-on budgeting, vendor coordination, and energy-efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in utility systems management, preferably in port/industrial facilities.
• Proven expertise in electrical systems, water treatment, HVAC, and compressed air systems.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA and industrial control systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design and documentation software.
• Experience in budget management and cost control.
• Proven leadership and team supervision skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Knowledge of port/terminal operations and infrastructure requirements.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and port facilities compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 certification.
• Preferred: Energy efficiency optimization and renewable energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all utility systems including electrical, water, HVAC, compressed air, and fuel distribution networks.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and ensure system reliability.
• Conduct technical troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve utility system failures.
• Supervise and mentor a team of utility technicians, providing guidance on maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational procedures.
• Prepare and manage utility system budgets, including capital expenditure planning and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment repairs, upgrades, and installations.
• Monitor energy consumption and implement efficiency improvement measures.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance activities, system performance, and equipment specifications.
• Respond to emergency situations and coordinate rapid resolution of critical utility failures.
• Collaborate with port operations and engineering teams to support facility expansion and infrastructure improvements.
• Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for utility department staff.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Utility Engineer to join our operations team at our port and terminal facility in Kuwait. In this role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and optimisation of all utility systems that support our port operations. You will lead a team of technicians while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational excellence. This is a key position for a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in utility systems management within a port or terminal environment.
