Overview
Designing, analyzing, and overseeing structural steel projects by leading teams, performing detailed calculations, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and collaborating with other professionals to deliver safe, efficient, and durable structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Management: Lead and manage structural steel projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Design & Analysis: Design, analyze, and review structural steel components and entire structures (e.g., buildings, piperacks, sheds) using STAAD Pro software.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare high-quality technical reports, design calculations, specifications, and concept plans for clients and project stakeholders.
- Code & Standard Compliance: Ensure that all structural designs comply with relevant building codes, design standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines (mechanical, piping, etc.) to achieve coordinated and integrated design solutions.
- Mentoring & Support: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior engineers and drafting team.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 10 to 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering, specifically with steel structures.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in structural analysis software, such as STAAD Pro, Idea Statica, or similar programs.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural loads and stresses, material properties, and how structures perform under various conditions.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, leadership, and multitasking skills.
- Industry Standards: Familiarity with relevant international and local design standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., AISC, ASCE).
