Job summary

DHL is seeking an experienced Industrial Projects Leader to drive end-to-end multimodal logistics from tender through execution. You will lead planning, risk mitigation, and governance across cross-functional teams, ensuring safety and contractual adherence.

The role requires strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management to coordinate with clients, EPCs, OEMs, and partners while maintaining project margins and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in multimodal project logistics.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project P&L.
• Advanced knowledge of Incoterms, HSSE frameworks, and transport engineering.
• Proficiency with logistics ERP systems (SAP or CargoWise).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of industrial project logistics from tender stage through execution and project close-out.
• Lead project planning, including route studies, feasibility assessments, transport engineering, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Approve method statements, lifting plans, and HSSE documentation prepared by operational teams.
• Ensure compliance with technical requirements, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
• Monitor critical project milestones and intervene to resolve operational bottlenecks.
• Lead project budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting.
• Review and approve quotations, vendor selections, and major procurement decisions.
• Ensure accurate billing, margin protection, and timely financial closure of projects.
• Support commercial teams in tender preparation, solution design, and customer presentations.
• Serve as the senior point of contact for key project clients, EPCs, OEMs, and strategic partners.
• Conduct project review meetings, performance evaluations, and post-project debriefs.
• Manage escalations, negotiate solutions, and ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with chartering, engineering, HSSE, finance, and country operations teams.
• Oversee relationships with heavy-lift carriers, vessel owners, transport engineering firms, and specialized subcontractors.
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
• Approve major subcontracting decisions and negotiate key commercial terms.
• Ensure all project activities comply with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and HSSE standards.
• Lead risk assessments and implement mitigation plans for high-risk cargo movements.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure adherence to internal governance frameworks.
• Supervise and mentor Industrial Projects Specialists, coordinators, and field teams.
• Build capability in heavy-lift logistics, project planning, and operational excellence.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
