Senior Geology Advisor

The Baker Hughes Technical Team comprises industry-leading subsurface experts working collaboratively with internal and external clients to deliver studies and innovative, integrated solutions to complex subsurface challenges in oil, gas, and energy transition fields.

As a Senior Geology Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading and executing subsurface project work for Gaffneycline.
  2. Providing geology and geomodelling expertise to subsurface studies in oil, gas, and energy transition areas.
  3. Applying existing technologies and methodologies in innovative combinations to design workflows for complex problems.
  4. Managing complex projects.
  5. Assisting with training and mentoring internal and external teams.
  6. Collaborating with other technical professionals in multidisciplinary projects.
  7. Providing technical support to regional and global product lines.
  8. Maintaining frequent contacts within the organization and with external customers.
  9. Contributing technical input to business development activities.
  10. Ensuring compliance with company policies, including HSE.

Fuel your passion

To succeed in this role, you should:

  1. Hold a Bachelor's degree in Geology.
  2. Have a good understanding of petroleum geosciences, including seismic interpretation, petrophysical analysis, and reservoir engineering principles.
  3. Possess at least 15 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 10 years in geomodelling and related geology within oil exploration and production or international service companies.
  4. Be experienced in using geomodelling applications, including Petrel.
  5. Be capable of creating, running, and updating static reservoir models independently.
  6. Have the ability to integrate G&G interpretations with other data to produce reliable 3D geological models.
  7. Demonstrate strong uncertainty assessment skills.
  8. Have practical experience monitoring ongoing reservoir modeling projects.
  9. Contribute to well path design to maximize productivity.
  10. Have a good understanding of petrophysical logs and QC processes.
  11. Be capable of identifying perforation intervals with other asset representatives.
  12. Possess basic knowledge of natural fractures and fracture modeling.
  13. Provide geological input for resource evaluations, unitization, and field development studies, and construct and audit reservoir geomodels.
  14. Be a team player and maintain good working relations.
