Job summary

Gulf Group Co. is seeking a Senior Accountant for a full-time, on-site role in Shuwaikh, Kuwait City. You will manage general ledgers, month-end close, budgets, and audits, while ensuring IFRS compliance and collaboration with multiple departments.

Ideal candidates have 7–10 years of accounting experience in related industries, strong Excel and ERP/Odoo skills, and professional qualifications such as CMA or ACCA are advantageous. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in Aftersales, Facility Management, Contracting, Heavy Equipment or similar.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger, month-end closing, and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of IFRS.
• Experience with project costing, inventory and fixed assets is highly preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems; Odoo experience is an advantage.
• Professional accounting qualifications (CMA, ACCA) will be an advantage.
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities to ensure accurate recording of transactions.
• Prepare and review monthly closing entries, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and prepaid expenses.
• Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Analyze revenue, costs, and profitability across divisions and projects.
• Monitor inventory, fixed assets, and related transactions.
• Support project costing, WIP, and revenue/cost recognition.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, budget variance analyses, and schedules.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure IFRS compliance and alignment with policies; support audits.
• Coordinate with Operations, Sales, Procurement and other departments on accounting treatment.
• Ensure accurate allocation of transactions to business units, projects, and cost centers.
