Role Description:

UULA is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Accountant who will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the financial accounting and reporting systems within the firm. The Senior Accountant’s role will include managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with IFRS, and supporting the Finance Manager and executive team with financial insights and analysis.

The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling balance sheets, and assisting with budget preparation and variance analysis. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting external auditors by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and ensuring that all audit requirements are met efficiently. Moreover, the ideal candidate should have strong experience in dealing with ZATCA (Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority) in Saudi Arabia, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Manage the company’s managerial and IFRS compliant financial statements: Ensure accuracy and compliance in the preparation and review of financial statements.
• Oversee financial operations and reporting: Maintain control over financial operations and reporting and contribute to the preparation of key reports.
• Prepare and verify payments: Ensure all company obligations and payments are accurate and properly documented before processing.
• Support audit processes: Coordinate with external auditors to streamline audit processes and ensure timely completion of annual audits.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting: Participate in the annual budgeting process and contribute to regular business model and revenue forecasting/tracking updates.
• Reconcile accounts: Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Monitor cash flow: Track the company’s cash flow, ensuring that sufficient funds are available for operational needs and strategic investments.
• Coordinate tax filings: Prepare and ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns
• Handle payroll accounting: Oversee the payroll accounting process, ensuring accurate recording of salaries, benefits, and deductions.
• Liaise with banks and financial institutions: Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions, ensuring efficient handling of banking transactions
• Maintain accounting controls: Create, maintain, and update accounting controls by implementing policies and procedures to ensure financial security and compliance.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business degree
• 5+ years of finance experience, including 3+ years in senior roles.
• Excellent communication skills with a spike in synthesizing concise summaries of complex analyses
• Deep understanding of IFRS accounting principles (ideally in a tech-company setting)
• Expertise in ensuring ZATCA compliance through accurate filing management is a must
• Comfortable balancing high-level strategic thinking with day-to-day and month-to-month execution

Nice to Have

• Masters in Business Administration Degree (MBA)
• CPA, ACCA, or CFA Certifications
