Job Summary
The Section Head is fully responsible and accountable for sound section operations. The role focuses on leading the section sales team in alignment with business strategies, with all team members responsible for providing customers with a high level of service. The major focus of the Section Head is driving sales and profitability to meet preset section targets. The Group Section Head is also responsible for creating a friendly work environment and ensuring the development of section employees through coaching and mentoring.
Job Responsibilities
Sales
- Manage and lead staff in achieving the section’s targets.
- Drive sales activities to achieve targets in cash, credit, warranties, and accessories.
- Ensure proper implementation of promotional activities to support higher sales results.
- Encourage section team to analyze sales data to maximize business results.
- Follow up with sales associates on section and individual achievements.
- Assist sales staff in completing difficult sales transactions.
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure sales associates do the same.
- Handle and follow up on customer complaints and inquiries.
- Interact with customers to ensure the quality of services provided.
- Review section’s CSI results and take necessary actions.
Operations
- Plan and prepare work schedules; assign duties; manage breaks, working hours, sick leaves, and vacations.
- Inspect merchandise to ensure correct pricing and display.
- Request and suggest product range/variety and maintain stock levels.
- Implement merchandise, planogram, and display guidelines at the section level.
- Secure merchandise by implementing security measures.
- Report to Store Manager on section operations, performance, and resources.
- Ensure all activities align with organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintain cost control measures in line with business objectives.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure adequate merchandise and supplies.
- Send monthly perpetual counts to the store manager.
- Maintain adequate manpower according to budget.
- Conduct annual appraisals and performance reviews with development plans for staff.
- Conduct regular section checklists.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for all section staff.
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Maintain proper housekeeping at the section.
- Ensure staff are aware of safety and emergency procedures.
