A leading engineering firm in Kuwait City is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to supervise maintenance and ensure quality control of rotating equipment. Ideal candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Power Engineering and have at least 10 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

• To plan and schedule the work and efficiently organise the site / facilities in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines.
• To attend regular meetings with clients, architects and consultants and keeping them informed of progress.
• To supervise and monitor the site labour force through General Foreman and or Supervisors, monitoring the work to complete the work as per customer's satisfaction.
• To oversee quality control and safety matters on the site, and ensure that regulations are adhered to.
• To resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.
• To oversee the selection and requisition of materials for use in the maintenance, to check whether the materials are as specified.
• To supervise and ensure proper maintenance of materials and to advice on technology and modifications required for a simpler and cost saving mechanism.
• To prepare necessary paperwork for the completion of work and get it authorised by the client after their inspection.
• To develop a relationship with the Project Engineer and prepare periodical reports on the progress of work.
• Prepare Maintenance Schedule, Monthly, Weekly and Daily Reports.
• Analyse all Equipment’s Requirements and Request of all tools and Consumables.
• Resolve all Maintenance issues and recommend improvement to same if required.
• Maintain an efficient and safe working environment for all employees.
• Dealing with emergencies & unplanned problems.
• Implementation and Monitoring of all mechanical Related Works at sites as per approved drawing and safety rules
• Plan and execute of all mechanical related works and coordinates the works to other departments like civil, electrical and instrumentation
• Assign targets for accomplishments and ensure targets are met on daily basis for all mechanical groups at site
• Ensure that all site works are done according to all applicable quality standards
• Attend regular meeting with client engineers and consultant to provide update on project progress
• Issue of permit to work (PTW) and proper isolation of equipment
• Involved no load trial & Load trial of drives
• Maintain all operation monitoring record of log sheets and Periodically & Review the same to improve monitoring and early detection of abnormality
• Involved in the Commissioning activities
• Co-Ordination with Client & vendors for spare parts procurement
• Preparing All Safety Documents (LMRA – Lifting Plan – Isolation Reconfirmation checklist – Confined Space Permit – Hot Work Permit).
• Checking , measuring & Analyzing Vibration for Rotating Equipment Machines

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical Power Engineering degree in any discipline (as appropriate)

(b) Experience

• Minimum 10 Years relevant experience Of Supervision , Monitoring and maintenance of rotating equipment machines (Pumps , Compressors , Fans)
• Required to develop equipment specifications, Hands of experience of working on pumps, compressors and similar Industrial plant primaries and auxiliaries fundamental requirement

• 2-Positive displacement pumps {rotary (gear, vane &screw) & reciprocating (piston, diaphragm &parallel cylinder)}.
• Maintenance of different kinds of compressors:
• 1-Dynamic head compressors.
• 2-Positive displacement compressors (reciprocating-rotary {vane-screw-scroll}).
• Maintenance of Sealing Oil Equipment and Vacuum pumps.
• Maintenance of Multi Stages Feed Water Pumps, (Booster Pumps & Hydraulic Coupling).
• Maintenance of Lubricating and Hydraulic Oil Pumps.
• Alignment Of All kind of pumps with motors (Horizontal & Vertical)
• Maintenance of Journal Bearing.
• Knowledge about N.D.T (D.P Test & Magnetic Test).
