Purpose and Scope of the Job: The Room Service Attendant is responsible to provide a warm, caring atmosphere and to provide luxurious and personalized service for patients, families and visitors. The room service will attend to all guests need and take care for food & beverage service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards
- Serves food and beverages to patient, patient s family and visitors daily for all meals. (Takes the menu, communicates to kitchen, delivers the food, arranges, sets up and clears the table).
- Communicates patients and companion s food likes, dislikes and allergies accurately to the kitchen & ensure kitchen compliance before service.
- Maintains Royal & Imperial Rooms inventory which is required to check after each discharge.
- Cleans & sanitizes food & beverage service utensils after patients or family use and after room discharge.
- Ensures complementary services are delivered to patient s room.
- Responds promptly, appropriately, and professionally to patient/family perceptions of and needs for care and services.
- Responds to requests for information promptly and refers the patient/family s concern to appropriate hospital personnel immediately.
- Act fast and take ownership for guests complain.
- Communicates the patient s need for assistance to nurses in need of moving out of bed to prevent accidents or transport non-ambulatory patient with wheelchair.
- Manages food & beverage service for special hospital or patients events.
- Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Direct Reporting Authority.
- Ensure the amenities are place in all the discharge room after the room is clean by the House Keeping.
- Refilling the Amenities daily.
- Physical Demands: Need to stand minimum 8 hours duty and to carry heavy trays of juices.
Working Condition:
- Works mostly inside patient s rooms.
- During patient s parties the environment is crowded with guests.
- Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
- Provides or promotes people centered care.
- Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
Qualifications, Competencies and Skills
Education: At least High School
Training: Food & Beverage service training is a plus
Experience: Minimum one year experience in a food & beverage service field or hotelier background.
Licensure: Not Applicable
Language: Good command of English Language; and Arabic is a plus
Computer Proficiency: Computer basics
