Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative R&D Manager – Electromechanical to lead the development of Medium Voltage Switchgears. This role involves overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptual design to final testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in mechanical engineering, leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation in electrical distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical & electrical engineers and designers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Allocate resources effectively, manage workloads, and oversee team performance to achieve project goals.

Product Design and Development:

• Oversee the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for Medium Voltage Switchgears.
• Drive innovation by integrating advanced materials, manufacturing technologies, and design practices.

Project Management:

• Plan, execute, and monitor R&D projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated solutions.

Technical Expertise:

• Provide technical guidance on mechanical design, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate prototypes and oversee testing to validate product performance and compliance with standards.

Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure all designs meet international and regional standards (e.g., IEC, MEW & KOC) and customer specifications.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes to maintain a competitive edge.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation of technical documentation, including 3D models, engineering drawings, and test reports.
• Present project updates, design reviews, and technical recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Experience:

• 10–15 years of experience in mechanical design and development, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proven track record of leading R&D projects in Medium Voltage Switchgears or related fields.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, material properties, and thermal management.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other tools.
