Worley seeks an experienced Project Manager for the Kuwait Environmental Remediation Program in Ahmadi. You will lead large-scale remediation projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant outcomes and meet ambitious environmental targets.

This role demands extensive PM experience in contaminated-land projects, strong client liaison skills, and the ability to manage scope, cost and schedule across complex operations in Kuwait.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 15 years total experience in engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years in oil & gas / refinery / petrochemical industries.
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar Project Management role.
  • Experience delivering contaminated-land or contaminated-soil remediation projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in soil remediation technologies and project lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Remediation projects, to join our team in Ahmadi, Kuwait, supporting the Kuwait Environmental Remediation Program (KERP).

You will play a pivotal role in delivering large-scale environmental restoration initiatives. With millions of square meters of contaminated land successfully remediated, this project represents a globally significant effort in sustainable environmental recovery.

What you'll do

Remediation Project Leadership and Delivery

  • Lead the overall management, coordination, and oversight of assigned contaminated-soil remediation projects.
  • Take accountability for project scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, contractor performance, and remediation outcomes.
  • Develop and implement project delivery strategies for assigned remediation areas and work packages.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of site characterization, excavation, segregation, handling, transportation, treatment, containment, validation, and close-out activities.
  • Manage specialist remediation contractors and technical service providers on behalf of the Client.
  • Ensure remediation activities are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and environmental requirements.
  • Confirm that completed remediation work meets approved Remediation Target Criteria and project acceptance requirements.
  • Identify technical, environmental, operational, commercial, and delivery risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate remediation activities with oil-field operations, access requirements, existing infrastructure, and other operational constraints.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on project status, remediation quantities, treatment performance, schedule, costs, risks, and forecast outcomes.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary technical interface with the Client.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring expectations are consistently met.
  • Proactively resolve scope, schedule, and performance issues.

HSE (Health, Safety & Environment)

  • Champion a strong HSE culture across all project phases.
  • Ensure OHSE requirements are embedded within design, procurement, and execution.

Scope & Contract Management

  • Ensure compliance with the Worley Project Management Plan (WPMP) and contract requirements.
  • Implement robust change control processes.
  • Support claims mitigation and management strategies.

Cost & Value Management

  • Monitor project costs and forecast outcomes, taking proactive measures to prevent overruns.
  • Promote Value Improving Practices (VIPs) to optimize capital efficiency.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to Worley systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain strong oversight of engineering deliverables and quality standards.
  • Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary and global teams.
  • Drive achievement of milestones and key project objectives.

What you'll have

  • Education: Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 15 years total experience
    • Minimum 5 years in oil & gas / refinery / petrochemical industries
    • Minimum 5 years in a similar Project Management role
  • Project-management experience delivering contaminated-land or contaminated-soil remediation projects.
  • Delivering complex environmental/remediation projects
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
    • Soil remediation technologies and execution strategies
    • Engineering and project management across full project lifecycle

Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing substantial contaminated-soil volumes and multiple concurrent remediation work fronts.
  • Experience in a Project Management Consultancy environment.
  • Experience representing or supporting a client organization in the oversight of specialist remediation contractors.
  • Experience coordinating remediation work within live or operational oil-field environments.
  • Experience in Kuwait or elsewhere in the Middle East.
