Job description

Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP. The Printer Repair Technician applies understanding and knowledge of information systems hardware and software to provide problem resolution, diagnosis, and solutions in a service center environment. They clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner. The technician is responsible for recognizing, researching, isolating, and resolving first-level information systems problems, including service, repairs, training, and follow-up. They install new printers, configure printers on networks, and maintain the proper function of standalone printers, scanners, or network printers. Routine repairs such as replacing ink cartridges are also part of the role.

Responsibilities

This description is subject to change to meet program or company needs.

  1. Fault finding and repairing various printers from multiple vendors such as Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, Dell, Brother, Canon, Epson, Samsung, Panasonic, Minolta, Sony, Kyocera, Sharp, Okidata, Ricoh, Xerox, IBM, and Tektronix.
  2. Repairing, installing, and configuring digital senders, plotters, scanning machines (flatbed and MFP), and copy machines.
  3. Connecting, installing, and configuring network printers and repairing ID card capable multifunction printers.
  4. Troubleshooting and maintaining electronic components such as SCRs, transistors, capacitors, resistors, bridge rectifiers, and fuses.
  5. Performing additional job duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Electronics diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • HP certification is desirable.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License.
  • Preferred certifications include CompTIA A+.

Experience required includes:

  • At least three years of related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to resolve technical issues independently.
  • Ability to document, research, and resolve technical problems efficiently.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
  • Customer service experience and ability to handle escalations.

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance Awareness and Security Officer Training.
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
Working Conditions

Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions exceeding 120°F, in both indoor and outdoor environments, including industrial settings.

Physical Requirements
  • Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • May involve heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, and prolonged standing or sitting.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
