EY in Kuwait is seeking a power-systems planning specialist to lead generation-connection and renewable integration studies, translating findings into practical network recommendations. You will contribute to regional interconnection projects with GCCIA and support technical work across multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes analysis, reporting, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure system stability and effective planning for evolving energy networks in Kuwait and the GCC.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in power-system planning and renewable integration studies.
• Knowledge of interconnected transmission-system behaviour and stability principles.
• Experience reviewing complex utility study reports and translating findings into recommendations.
• Electrical Engineering degree; postgraduate qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct generation-connection and renewable-energy studies, including grid connection points.
• Study requirements for strengthening Kuwait power system with the GCC Interconnection Grid.
• Review GCC Interconnection Authority reports and provide technical comments.
• Support GCCIA workshops and prepare technical reports and observations.
• Study system balance after sudden loss of generation or load and assess stability issues.
• Assess renewable-energy forecasting and integration constraints for network investments.
• Support seasonal and network-expansion studies as required.
