Job description

In this role, you will implement the brand’s service strategy and initiatives throughout the sales process, fostering customer loyalty by delivering exceptional service at every touchpoint. You will act as the key liaison between clients and the hotel, coordinating with various departments to ensure the successful planning and execution of off-site events. By effectively negotiating prices and services, you will maximize revenue while controlling expenses, supported by accurate forecasting. Ultimately, your success will be measured by the flawless execution of events, customer satisfaction, and the ability to cultivate long-term loyalty, ensuring repeat business with the hotel and company.

What will I be doing?

As an Outside Catering Manager, you are responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage customer relationships through drafting proposals and contracts, responding to inquiries, and organizing arrangements for social and corporate events, including set-up and execution of meetings, meals, and special events. Provide direction and supervision of logistics to catering and event services teams.
  • Represent the hotel and conduct meetings with clients via phone or in person to solicit and close group and local catering business. Conduct property tours, promote facilities and services, and negotiate contracts within authorized parameters. Coordinate with vendors for agreements.
  • Support senior catering managers and the director of catering in planning and executing large events on-site.
  • Assist in moving hotel or customer equipment and furnishings as needed to facilitate quick turnaround of event spaces.
  • Assist customers directly, including moving items up to 20 lbs.
  • Audit customer checks and department charges for accuracy, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Supervise staff in creating and distributing accurate written materials, including contracts, menus, and reports, adhering to Hilton standards and policies.
  • Follow up with customers post-event, re-book functions, and send thank-you notes.
  • Compile post-event Food and Beverage reports.
