Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency is seeking personnel to inspect and disposition a wide range of materials, review disposal documents, and determine proper handling and classification for warehousing. Additional duties include performing inventories, re-palletizing, and operating forklifts to move palletized goods within a warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• Applicants will be rated under the OPM Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations.
• Emphasis is on demonstrated knowledge and skill through experience and training.
• Screen-out elements (SOE) determine eligibility for further competition.

Responsibilities

• Receives, examines and determines the condition and disposition of a wide variety of materials.
• Reviews disposal turn-in documents to ensure correct information and proper documentation.
• Visually inspects usable property for condition and acceptability.
• Determines handling requirements and assigns classification instructions for warehousing.
• Verifies demilitarization codes and maintains segregated storage for DEMIL-requiring items.
• Ensures proper certification is attached to turn-in documents after demilitarization.
• Performs special and periodic inventories and re-palletizes or relocates property as needed.
• Operates forklifts and related handling equipment to move, load, and unload palletized materials.
