Job description

JobPurpose

Oversee all maintenance work at the mall premises, supervise the maintenance contractors and promote a safe work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the facility manager in all related engineering work and facility operation and maintenance.
  • Supervise and assign maintenance work to contractors and sub-contractors in accordance with the operations and maintenance contracts, safety guidelines and the company’s policies and procedures to ensure a consistent high customer experience and avoid any disruption of the mall operations.
  • Monitor the quality of work and evaluate the contractor’s performance.
  • Supervise new projects in property management in regard to mechanical and electrical works.
  • Create the maintenance plan and strategy.
  • Work to improve maintenance team performance and experience.
  • Discuss the contract terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate the contracts and quotation to get best price with high quality.
  • Follow up fit out works for new tenants, revise the tenant proposed design drawing and ensure required services are connected to the unit, and perform regular and final inspections and reports.
  • Ensure maintenance requests from tenants are resolved and handover stores to new tenants.
  • Ensures that general safety and fire prevention regulations are enforced and safe working habits are promoted throughout the premises.

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management or property operations
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Proven ability to manage external contractors and service providers
  • Experience with mall or retail property management is a plus
  • Familiarity with safety standards, fire prevention regulations, and inspection protocols
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experience handling contracts and quotations
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of CAFM systems is an advantage
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus
