Overview

Librarian - Indian/Pakistani Nationals (Contract Position)

We are seeking a qualified Librarian to join our team in Al-Kuwait on a contract basis. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library resources, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting library programs and services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the cataloging, classification, and indexing of library materials
• Develop and maintain library policies and procedures
• Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide reference services
• Promote library resources, programs, and services to increase usage
• Manage the circulation of materials, including check-in/check-out procedures
• Train and supervise library staff in day-to-day operations
• Collaborate with other departments to develop cross-functional programs and events

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Library Science or related field
• Proven experience as a Librarian or similar role in a public or academic library setting
• Knowledge of library management systems, cataloging standards, and information retrieval methods
• Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of additional languages is a plus)
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist patrons from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Indian or Pakistani nationality preferred
• Must be able to work on a contract basis without accommodation

Salary

This is a contract position with a salary of 1200$ per month.
