Job description

We are looking for a talented and skilled Junior Legal Counsel to join our multicultural and diverse team in Kuwait. The role involves providing administrative and clerical support to optimize workflow procedures in the office and managing day-to-day legal activities to support the company's operations.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing proactive, solutions-focused, legally sound advice and support in a timely manner.
  • Leading the review, drafting, negotiation, and amendment of a broad spectrum of commercial contracts.
  • Advising the company on rights and responsibilities under Kuwaiti laws.
  • Monitoring local regulatory trends that could impact business operations.
  • Handling dispute resolution and providing active legal involvement.
  • Managing the use, quality, and cost of external legal counsel.
  • Offering advice on corporate law matters and providing company secretarial support.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including trade embargo regulations.
  • Preparing and reviewing tender documents to ensure clarity and compliance with requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Law degree from a reputable university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal practice.
  • Experience in law firms is preferred; experience in large corporate settings is also valued.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kuwaiti laws, including Company Law.

Languages

  • Excellent command of English and Arabic.
