Job description

We are looking for a talented and skilled Junior Legal Counsel to join our multicultural and diverse team in Kuwait. Assume the duties of Administrative and Clerical support in order to optimize workflow procedures in the office. Managing the day-to-day activities for the duties of the Legal function in support of the Company’s operation of a business, which include, among others:

Duties may include but will not be limited to:

1. Provide proactive, solutions focused, legally sound advice and support in a timely fashion.
2. Take the legal lead role in reviewing, drafting, negotiating and/or amending broad spectrum of commercial contracts.
3. Advise the Company on its rights and responsibility under the applicable laws of Kuwait.
4. Monitor trends in the local regulation that may affect the operation of the business.
5. Provide dispute resolution advice counsel, handle and assume active involvement.
6. Control the use, quality, and cost of external legal counsel.
7. Advise on general corporate law matters and provide timely and efficient company secretarial support.
8. Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including those related to trade embargo.
9. Prepare and review tenders documents to ensure that tenders requirements are clearly understood, covered and fulfilled.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Law Degree from a reputable university.
2. 5+ years of legal practice.
3. Law firm experience preferred, and large corporate practice also valued.
4. Experience in the manufacturing industry is advantageous.
5. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Kuwait laws, including the Company Law.

Languages:

1. Excellent command of English & Arabic.
