Job summary

Saba Intellectual Property is seeking a junior IP lawyer to provide legal advice on infringement and counterfeit matters, and to support enforcement efforts. The role involves managing enforcement cases, preparing client communications, and translating documents as needed.

You will conduct trademark, patent, and copyright research to establish origins of rights, perform domain name investigations, and liaise with external lawyers and branches to obtain feedback and ensure timely follow-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws with 0-2 years experience in the legal field, preferably IP.

Responsibilities

• Provides legal advice and recommends a course of action on infringement/counterfeit matters.
• Manages, coordinates and monitors legal enforcement cases on various IP matters.
• Prepares day-to-day correspondences and reports to clients.
• Translates documents when needed.
• Conducts trademark, patent, copyright research pertaining to origin and background of registered owners.
• Conducts domain name research and searches for counterfeit items promoted online.
• Liaises with external lawyers and company branches to obtain feedback on infringement cases and maintain follow-up.
• Reviews IP related agreements such as licensing, franchise, master development, copyright agreements, etc.
• Prepares annual audit reports for clients pertaining to legal matters handled by the company.
• Drafts and reviews warning letters before being sent to counterparts, and supervises follow-up.
• Prepares and files complaints before government authorities (Municipality, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Customs, etc.)
• Conducts regular market visits to identify potential infringements or counterfeiting activities and reports.
