Job description

Develop lesson plans and themes in line with curriculum objectives specific for teaching History Subjects using the American Curriculum. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment.

Meet with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve any behavioral or academic issues. Establish clear objectives for all lessons and projects. Distribute, collect, and grade homework assignments, tests, and projects. Attend staff meetings.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in History from a recognized university in the US, CA, UK, AU, NZ
• Teaching license from one of the following countries: UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, or Scandinavian countries (due to visa restrictions)
• Excellent English speaking and written skills
• Excellent classroom management skills and ability to handle student behavior issues

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years teaching experience in History at secondary grade level
• Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible, and adaptable to a changing environment

Compensation and Benefits:

• Tax-free monthly salary range from KD 775 to 1175, depending on experience and qualifications
• Housing options: furnished 1-2 bedroom apartment or KD 125 monthly housing allowance
• Utilities paid by the school when in school accommodation
• Transportation provided when in school accommodation
• Government health insurance for the employee
• Annual return airfare to home country for the employee
• Minimum 30 paid leave days per year, in addition to national holidays
• 50% tuition discount for up to 2 dependents attending the same school as the employee
