Qualifications

• 7+ years in software or data engineering with 3+ years leading AI/ML in production.
• Hands-on experience shipping LLM applications using RAG, AI agents, evaluation, and model management.
• Strong Python, API design, and integration skills with ability to build, review, and debug production code.
• Proven examples of AI delivering measurable business results.
• Fluent English and strong communication/leadership abilities.
• Advanced CS/Data Science/Engineering degree; relevant AI/cloud certifications are a plus.

We are looking for a hands-on AI leader to transform how our businesses operate and turn proven AI capabilities into scalable products.

Your first priority will be internal transformation across Wasfa, a healthcare and healthtech services provider, and Apix Solutions. You will then lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of AI capabilities for our products and external clients. Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, you will work with our AI Product Developer and existing engineering team.

The Head of AI & Digital Transformation is a full-time, on-site role based in Kuwait, responsible for defining and executing the company’s AI and digital transformation strategy.

What you will lead:

• Assess operations and build a prioritized AI roadmap with clear owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
• Deliver practical workflows for document and prescription intake, request routing, pharmacist call-center assistance, reconciliation, and business automation.
• Own AI architecture and build-versus-buy decisions across models, tools, and local/cloud infrastructure
• Develop reusable AI services and product modules that Apix can license to external clients.
• Establish evaluation, reliability, human review, access controls, and audit practices.
• Lead and develop the AI team, drive adoption across departments, and translate technical choices into business decisions.
• Work with legal, security, and healthcare stakeholders on data protection and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software or data engineering, including at least 3 years leading AI/ML work in production.
• Hands-on experience shipping LLM applications using RAG, AI agents, evaluation, and model management.
• Strong Python, API design, and integration skills, with the ability to build, review, and debug production code.
• Proven examples of AI delivering measurable business results.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills, with fluent English.
• Strong foundation in Computer Science, with experience in software architecture, systems integration, and enterprise technology platforms.
• Proficiency in Data Science, including data analysis, modeling, and the use of analytics tools to support decision-making and performance optimization.
• Expertise in Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning methods to design and deploy intelligent solutions for business processes and customer engagement.
• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) to build and manage language-based applications such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and text analytics.
• Knowledge of Computer Vision techniques for applications such as inventory tracking, quality control, and in-store experience enhancement.
• Proven leadership experience in AI, digital transformation, or technology strategy, preferably within retail, wholesale, or related industries.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value, and to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and vendor management.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications in AI, cloud, or digital transformation are an advantage.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a focus on ethical AI practices and continuous improvement.
