Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer - GIS to support critical GIS equipment and high‑voltage systems. You will lead installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting on GIS components, ensuring safety and reliability across sites.

Applicants should bring a BS in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years’ GIS experience, plus strong diagnostic, reporting, and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams and customers worldwide.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of GIS experience.
Strong knowledge of GIS components and failure modes.
Experience with GIS installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting.
Familiarity with electrical safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform GIS installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of GIS equipment.
Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance.
Troubleshoot GIS malfunctions and identify root causes.
Develop maintenance procedures and schedules per manufacturer specs.
Share knowledge with technicians and engineers on GIS operation.
Collaborate on GIS design reviews, upgrades, retrofits, modifications.
Maintain records of maintenance activities and performance data.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare technical reports and service recommendations.
Support emergency response during critical failures.
