Job description

Catering to freight forwarding requirements for Alghanim Sahara Trans and its branches, the job holder will be an integral part of the operations team, providing clear, accurate, and insightful business/financial analysis. The role involves contributing to business planning, participating in project work, and reporting on operational activities such as KPIs, business volume growth, and process changes.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee processes across divisions to enhance efficiency.
  2. Prepare and circulate reports (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, yearly) for management.
  3. Manage and report KPIs across all divisions to the head, aiming for efficiency and cost reduction.
  4. Improve freight, customs clearance, and delivery processes by creating SOPs & SLAs.
  5. Generate reports for tender awards post-bidding processes on quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly tenders, focusing on reducing landing costs.
  6. Report on freight bookings regularly, based on projections and actual loadings; prepare business development and cost reduction presentations.
Candidate Requirements:
  1. Minimum 2+ years of experience in freight, supply chain, and logistics reports and analytics.
  2. A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or other quantitative fields from a reputable university, with a strong academic record.
  3. Strong analytical skills to identify and interpret key business drivers.
  4. Basic knowledge of customs operations, shipping lines, and freight forwarders is desirable.
  5. Previous experience with Cargowise1 and Tableau is required.
  6. Self-starter with the ability to work across functions and in teams; results-driven, capable of handling unstructured assignments.
  7. Positive attitude, flexibility, and adaptability to a multicultural environment.
  8. Fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; programming skills are an advantage.
  10. Solution-oriented, quick learner, capable of guiding and training team members to improve work processes.
  11. Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
