Role
As Food Safety Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing the Food Safety Team and overseeing the implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS). This role ensures compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and standards, identifies and addresses potential hazards, develops and implements HACCP plans, and fosters a positive food safety culture within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the Food Safety Team to ensure effective execution of food safety practices and standards.
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Monitor and ensure full compliance with all relevant food safety laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify potential food safety hazards through risk assessments and inspections, and develop effective strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans to safeguard product safety.
- Design and deliver food safety training programs to employees to enhance their understanding and adherence to food safety protocols.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and evaluations of food safety practices and procedures, and report findings to management.
- Prepare and present comprehensive food safety reports and metrics to senior management, highlighting performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Promote and cultivate a positive food safety culture throughout the organization by encouraging proactive communication, continuous improvement, and accountability.
Skills
- Proven experience in food safety management, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, FDA, FSMA).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and implement effective solutions.
- Experience in training and educating teams on food safety principles.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and reporting abilities.
