Job summary

A leading fire safety firm in Kuwait City is seeking a skilled Fire Safety Technician to inspect fire protection systems and ensure compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years' experience in fire protection systems and holds a fire & safety certificate. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, performing inspections, and responding to emergencies. The role offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment focused on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in fire protection and/or detection systems.
  • Preferably holding NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test fire protection and/or detection systems.
  • Troubleshoot and arrange for repair of defective fire and safety equipment.
  • Assist in inspecting facilities for compliance with fire safety standards.
  • Respond to emergencies related to mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
  • Maintain operation of emergency generators.
  • Replace faulty smoke detectors.
  • Assist with monthly fire extinguisher inspections.
  • Disable and re-enable fire panels as directed.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Fire & Safety Manager.

Job description
Responsibilities
  1. Inspect and test fire protection and / or detection systems to verify that such systems are installed in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations and standards.
  2. Troubleshoot and / or arrange for the repair or replacement of defective fire and safety equipment.
  3. Assist in inspecting the property facilities for compliance with pertinent life and safety and fire-safety standards as mandated by the government ordinances.
  4. Respond to all mechanical, electrical and structural systems emergencies to assess fire and safety or life-safety threats.
  5. Maintain the operation of emergency generators and report problems to appropriate personnel.
  6. Replace faulty smoke detectors and report any problems to appropriate personnel.
  7. Assist with the monthly inspection of fire extinguishers.
  8. Disables and re-enable fire panels as directed.
  9. Perform any other tasks assigned to him by the Fire & Safety Manager and the Chief Engineer.
