The International University of Science & Technology in Kuwait (IUK) is a newly established private university located in the heart of Kuwait near the Avenues Mall. Fully accredited by the Private Universities Council (PUC), IUK offers a wide range of academic programs in Engineering, Business, Arts, and Social Sciences. The university also has a Foundation Program (UFP) providing English and Math courses. Position Summary

The Department of Humanities and Fine Arts in the College of Arts invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor position. The successful candidate will teach courses related to human creativity, including visual arts, theatre, music, film, culture, philosophy, and history. Responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced undergraduate courses, maintaining scholarly work, and engaging in professional services.

The faculty's primary role involves high-quality teaching, research, and service. Collaboration with department heads, deans, and colleagues is essential, along with mentoring junior staff and supporting administrative and academic duties. Teaching load is 12 credits/contact hours weekly, with expectations for office hours, student advisement, curriculum development, and participation in professional development activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in History, Humanities, Fine Arts, and related fields based on expertise.
• Innovate teaching methods and strategies, engaging students both inside and outside the classroom.
• Mentor new colleagues and teaching assistants.
• Adhere to university bylaws and regulations, including teaching schedules, office hours, and professional development.
• Support colleagues academically and participate in university events and seminars.
• Contribute to organizing conferences and faculty events.
• Serve on college and university committees as needed.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Fine Arts, History, Philosophy, Islamic Culture, Arabic Language, or Law.

Experience

• At least three years of university-level teaching experience.
• Experience with learning management systems and e-learning strategies.
• Understanding of multicultural academic environments and student needs, including those with special needs.

Technical Skills

• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in general computer use and LMS platforms.

Behavioral Skills
