Job summary

V2X seeks an Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) professional to lead the implementation of the WEXMAC Safety and Health Plan in Kuwait. The role requires coordinating across teams to ensure compliance with DoD and federal OSHA/EPA standards, while driving training and performance metrics.

The ideal candidate has extensive ESH experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage resources and personnel in a challenging environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field required.
  • Experience in environmental compliance and safety programs preferred.
  • Ability to train and lead groups, and work with management and regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Implements a standardized ESH program aligned with Management System principles.
  • Performs risk analysis and develops programs surpassing regulatory basics.
  • Identifies resources and budget for PPE and training needs.
  • Conducts ESH inspections and implements reward and recognition programs.
  • Ensures regulatory documentation for permits and compliance is completed.
  • Communicates with senior management and regulators to implement the ESH program.

Responsible for implementing and assisting with development of the WEXMAC Safety and Health Plan; ensuring compliance with applicable requirements; establishing safety inspection, compliance, and behavioral monitoring. Responsible for writing and reviewing technical reports and will interact with middle management teams.

Responsibilities

  • Implements a standardized ESH program, which is Management System based
  • Performs risk analysis, develops programs that exceed basic regulatory compliance
  • Identifies needed resources (such as personal protective equipment) and budget for resources
  • Identifies required training for employees in various operations, performs and documents training, documents and submits monthly performance metrics
  • Performs ESH inspections, and implements employee reward and recognition program
  • Reads and understands regulatory compliance and submits any documentation required to operate under permits (such as air, hazardous waste, and water)
  • Communicates (manage-from-the-floor type) with senior management, area supervisors, and regulators to help implement a complete ESH program
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology or Technical certification in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science/Management.
  • Must be able to obtain a Host Country Driver's License
  • Must be CAC eligible and/or the ability to obtain a CAC
Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in environmental compliance, OSHA compliance, ISO experience, and hazardous waste management and pollution prevention
  • Supervisory/Leadership experience (desired)
  • Knowledge of Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD), Department of Defense (DoD) environmental regulations, and US Army Safety and Environmental Regulations, including Federal OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Military background and training beneficial.
Skills:
  • Ability to instruct small and medium groups of people
  • Competent in computer operations to include Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a strong ability to work independently as a member of a robust team.
  • Able to manage others to complete assigned task
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • May supervise ESH specialists.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
Physical Requirements:
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
