KPMG Kuwait is seeking an ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Manager to join the ESG team. The ideal candidate should be based in Kuwait. We are expanding our ESG/Sustainability practice to help organizations improve their sustainability management and develop strategies to address specific challenges. Our work includes strategy development, management, reporting, and resolving implementation challenges in areas such as climate change, ethical supply chain management, sustainable finance, decarbonization, human rights, economic development, net-zero commitments, and corporate citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Assist the ESG team in delivering advisory and assurance projects.
• Help raise KPMG Kuwait's profile in the ESG field among businesses and government regulatory bodies.
• Educate senior management of clients on the value of ESG.
• Identify business opportunities in ESG and sustainability.
• Develop business plans, pitches, and engagements; support team in developing propositions; build a network in Kuwait; respond to RFPs/tenders.
• Partner with KPMG’s regional and global ESG network as needed.
• Help build a strong ESG team, including delivering training on sustainability reporting and assurance.

Experience Required

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in related disciplines, including at least 5+ years in sustainability advisory, assurance, or verification.
• Experience working within a company or as an external consultant on ESG/sustainability projects.
• Experience in consulting, especially with a Big 4 firm.
• Experience in writing ESG reports.
• Ability to manage multiple ESG projects simultaneously.
• Experience in conducting ESG training sessions and workshops.
• Experience providing ESG services to diverse industries.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret ESG data and generate insights.
• Experience leading sales activities, proposal development, and public speaking engagements, including board presentations.
• Experience establishing sustainability strategies and reporting based on frameworks like UNGC, GRI, SASB, TCFD, DJSI, CDP, etc.
• Knowledge of sustainability rating agencies and reporting standards.
• Experience in sustainable finance, human rights assessments, and gender equality reporting.
• Understanding of frameworks such as GRI, IR, IPCC, TCFD, SDGs, UNGC, ESG, OSHA, SROI, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental & sustainability studies, or related fields.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to thrive in an international, multicultural environment.
