Electrician Lead

Overview

This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment.
• Perform operations and maintenance duties to maintain power to telecommunications equipment and ensure the facility's electrical distribution system remains in good repair.
• Ensure electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2008 for repairs and upgrades to existing structures, and NEC 2011 standards for new construction, contract specifications, and MIL Standards/Regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Journeyman's electrical license.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a host nation Driver's License.

Experience:

• 5 to 7 years of experience in electrical wiring, including planning, layout, and installation of electrical distribution systems according to NEC or British standards, under supervision of a qualified electrician.

Skills:

• Ability to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain electrical systems and components.
• Ability to perform operations and maintenance to ensure power supply to telecommunications equipment and maintain electrical distribution systems.
• Compliance with NEC 2008 and NEC 2011 standards, as applicable.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions exceeding 120°F.
• Indoor and outdoor environments with harsh conditions, including hot, dry, desert environments with temperatures from 30°F in winter to 130°F in summer.

Physical Requirements

• Light work involving exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly.
• May require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing or sitting, and working in areas with potential exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as necessary.
