Job description

Electricians are responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical control systems and components, wiring, equipment, fixtures, and lighting systems. They inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components. Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices is also part of their role. Ensuring work complies with relevant codes is essential.

Key Commitments

• Adhere to workshop policies, processes, and procedures as outlined in the operations policies & procedures manual, and follow manager instructions.
• Ensure that equipment and items are processed in a cost-effective, economical, and timely manner within company policies.
• Report any non-compliance in operations.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
• Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Perform general electrical maintenance.
• Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components with test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct issues.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs, ensuring compliance with codes.
• Advise management on potential hazards of continued equipment operation.
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using appropriate tools.
